48 hours in Downtown Denver

A few weekends ago Nate and I took a quick road trip down to Denver to see one of my favorite bands, perform. Of course, the weather decided to surprise us with some snow in May but we didn't allow that to get in the way of our fun!

Day 1

Dinner: Ace Eat Serve

This was by far one of my favorite places we went on our trip! Eat Ace Serve combines both Asian Fusion Cuisine and a fun atmosphere where you can play ping pong (one of Nate & I's favorite games). It was warm and inviting and the staff was so friendly which made this the perfect place to grab a bite and watch the snow fall outside.

After dinner, we headed to the Oh Wonder concert at the historic Ogden Theatre. One thing that I have come to love about planning trips to Denver is the music scene; with so many great venues you are bound to find a concert or show that you will enjoy.

Oh Wonder is a British Duo that has been one of my favorite bands ever since I started listening to them my freshmen year of college. So when I saw Oh Wonder's tour schedule I knew I wanted to go to their concert in Denver. We literally bought tickets the day they went on sale!

The concert opened with Winona Oak, a Swedish singer-songwriter whose sound aligned perfectly with Oh Wonder's energy and music. Once Oh Wonder came on it was such a dream and was even better than I could have ever imagined! Being in a room with so many people singing the lyrics to your favorite song makes it feel even more special and will be an experience I will hold on to forever.

Day 2

Brunch: Apple Blossom

Although we were planning on going somewhere else for Brunch on Saturday I'm so happy we wandered into Apple Blossom. With Frank Sinatra playing over the speakers and a simple brunch menu it was such a relaxing perfect way to start our day.

I ordered the Deep Fried Banana's Foster French toast while Nate ordered the Colorado-style Breakfast Burrito. We take our brunch very seriously and Apple Blossom definitely delivered!

Morning Activities: Dairy Block & Urban Putt

After Brunch, we headed to the Dairy Block where we stopped at Sarah O. Jewelry to pick out my wedding band and explored the Milk Market. If you love public art I highly recommend stopping by this area, it is so vibrant and you can tell that it was made for and by creative people. We stopped at LoDough and got a fresh apple hand pie to share that came in the cutest hand-stamped bag.

Next, we headed to Urban Put where we had drinks and played 18 holes of mini golf on the most unique course featuring landmark areas in Denver. Urban Putt provides a great year-round activity for all ages and was a great day date option!

Lunch: The Cheesecake Factory & Downtime

After a busy morning, we headed to The Cheesecake Factory for lunch and spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing back at our Airbnb.

Evening Activities: Ikea and Dave & Buster's

When originally planning this trip, we thought we would maybe go to a Rockies game, but since the weather was colder than expected, we decided to take our date night inside and went to Ikea and Dave & Buster's. It may seem kind of ridiculous that we decided to go to Ikea but Nate had never been so I wanted to treat him to the joys of Ikea :)

As for Dave & Buster's, who doesn't like arcade games?! We both treated ourselves to some drinks and plenty of rounds of skeeball. I think we spent almost two hours at the end of our night; earning enough points to walk out with a charades card game.

Day 3

Breakfast: Voodoo Donuts

Our final stop before heading home to Belle was to get breakfast at Voodoo Donuts. This was one of the top things we wanted to get when we started planning this trip. They have so many different donut options from a classic maple bar to some unique options like the Memphis Mafia, a fried banana fritter covered with chocolate and peanut butter. We both got the "Oh Captain, My Captain" a perfectly raised donut topped with frosting and Captain Crunch.

Voodoo is also open from 5AM-3AM so whether you're craving donuts for breakfast or a late night snack you have an opportunity to fulfill those cravings!

Final Words

This trip was such a great way to start off my 2022 travels. One thing that I love about planning trips like this one is that we did the things on our 'want to do' list and filled in the rest of our time with other fun activities that we may not have done otherwise. Denver has so much to offer and I definitely recommend visiting soon!
